18.8.2005 - FOR ITALIAN CITIZENS RESIDENT IN YEMEN AND DJIBOUTI
With reference to Law 459/2001, which governs the procedure that allows Italians residing outside of Italy’s borders to vote by mail, a research conducted jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs reveals that some names are not listed in the Registry of Italians Abroad (AIRE), and appears only in the consular lists, or the other way around. In order to normalize this situation, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs seeks the collaboration of those Italian citizens in the said situation, in order to kindly verify, and correct where necessary, their data. The Embassy of Italy in Sana’a and the General Honorary Consulate in Djibouti have recently send by mail a package with:

• an information letter
• a form with the data known by the Consular Office, to be checked and confirmed or corrected by the recipient
• a self-addressed stamped envelope, in order to mail the form back to the Consular Office  

The form must be mailed back as soon as possible, and in no case after September 30, 2005, even if no corrections or additions have been made; it must be signed and accompanied by a copy of a valid form of identification.. If the Consular Office does not receive a response, the name will be cancelled from the registry. 18.8.2005 - POUR LES CITOYENS ITALIENS RESIDANT AU YEMEN ET A DJIBOUTI
En référence à la Loi italienne n. 459 du 27 décembre 2001, qui régit les opérations de vote par correspondance pour les ressortissants italiens qui résident à l'étranger, il apparaît, au travers des vérifications effectuées conjointement par le Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et le Ministère de l'Intérieur italiens, que les données concernant un certain nombre de citoyens italiens ne sont pas incluses - comme elles le devraient - dans les registres municipaux d'état civil des italiens à l'étranger (Anagrafe degli Italiani Residenti all’Estero - AIRE), mais seulement dans les fichiers consulaires, ou bien à l’envers..   Afin de rétablir la situation, la Section Consulaire a besoin de l’aimable collaboration des citoyens qui se trouvent dans cette situation. L’Ambassade d’Italie à Sana’a et le Consulat Général Honoraire d’Italie à Djibouti ont envoyé récemment par poste un pli avec:

• Une lettre d’information
• Une fiche avec les données du citoyen connues par la Section Consulaire, pour les vérifier, les confirmer et éventuellement les corriger
• Une enveloppe pré-affranchie pour renvoyer la fiche 

La fiche signée, accompagnée de la photocopie d'un document d'identité en cours de validité doit être renvoyée au bureau consulaire dans les plus brefs délais (et en tous cas avant le 30 septembre 2005), même au cas où aucune modification ne serait nécessaire. En cas de non-réponse, les donnés pourraient être supprimées des fichiers consulaire et municipal.
